Ludere (iOS & Android) and PuzzleHub (Windows, macOS, Linux)
Last updated: 23 July 2026
This policy applies to the mobile app Ludere (Google Play and the Apple App Store) and the desktop app PuzzleHub (downloaded from digdyn.com). Both are the same collection of puzzle, board and card games, and both are published by DigDyn ("we", "us").
Where the platforms differ, this policy says so explicitly.
To be direct about the things people usually worry about, none of these are collected, requested, or accessed by the apps:
The Android app requests exactly one permission, INTERNET, and only so
that online multiplayer can connect. The apps include no advertising SDK, no analytics
SDK, and no third-party software that collects data about you.
The apps save a few small files locally so your settings and progress survive a restart. These never leave your device, and we cannot see them:
hub_prefs.dat)*_stats.dat, *_online_prefs.dat)On Android and iOS these live in the app's own private storage and are removed
automatically when you uninstall the app. On desktop they live in your user profile
(~/Library/Application Support/Puzzles/ on macOS,
~/.local/share/Puzzles/ on Linux, or beside the program on Windows) and can
be deleted at any time.
Most games can be played entirely offline against the computer, and in that case
nothing is transmitted at all. If you choose to host or join an online game, or open
the lobby, the app connects to our relay server at
games.digdyn.com and sends:
| Display name | The name you typed. It defaults to "Player" and it is not verified, not linked to you, and can be changed or made up at any time. |
|---|---|
| Game session | Which game you are playing, the room code, and your seat number โ so players in the same room reach each other. |
| Moves | Your plays and the resulting game state, so the other players can see them. |
| Chat | Any message you type into an in-game or lobby chat box. |
| IP address | Your device's network address and the time it connected. Every internet connection reveals this; it is not something the app chooses to send, and we do not use it to identify you. |
All of it travels over an encrypted (TLS) WebSocket connection. Before connecting, the app also makes a single health-check request to the same server to wake it, which sends nothing beyond the request itself.
The relay is deliberately simple: it forwards messages between the players in a room and nothing more. Specifically:
This section applies to digdyn.com and the desktop app only. The mobile apps do none of it.
These logs are not public, are capped in size, and are not linked to anything else. The mobile apps have no self-update mechanism; they are updated through Google Play and the App Store, which have their own privacy policies covering that.
We do not sell your data, share it with advertisers or data brokers, or use it for advertising or profiling. There are no third-party trackers in the apps.
Our server and website are hosted by a hosting provider that necessarily processes this traffic on our behalf in order to run the service. We may disclose information if the law requires it, or where it is genuinely necessary to protect the service or its users from abuse.
If you install through Google Play or the Apple App Store, those companies handle the download, payment (the apps are free) and update process under their own privacy policies. From them we receive only the reporting those stores give every developer โ install and uninstall counts, ratings, and crash reports containing a device model, an operating system version and a technical stack trace โ never a list of who installed the app.
The apps are suitable for a general audience but are not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children. Some included games simulate casino play โ poker, blackjack, bingo โ using play money only. There is no real-money gambling, no purchases, and no way to convert anything in the app into money or prizes.
If you believe a child has provided personal information through chat, contact us and we will remove what we can.
Online play uses encrypted (TLS) connections. Because there are no accounts, there are no passwords for us to store or lose. No system is perfectly secure, but we keep the amount of information involved as small as we reasonably can โ which is the best protection available.
If the way the apps handle data changes, this page will be updated and the "last updated" date at the top will change. Material changes will also be reflected in the app's store listings.
Questions about this policy, or about privacy in the apps, can be sent to privacy@digdyn.com.
